Save the Date for Kwita Izina Ceremony
Rwanda Development Board just announced the date for annual Kwita Izina – baby gorilla naming ceremony on September 5th , that will take place in Kinigi Village near Musanze.
By gorillas being endangered species, every birth is a reason for celebration and proof of conservation efforts. From 2o1o, when the last count was done, gorilla population increased by 26 percent.
This year they are naming 24 baby gorillas coming from various gorilla groups: Agashya, Hirwa, Isabukuru, Kuryama, Kwitonda, Sabyinyo, Susa and Umurimo.
Kwita Izina is definitely an event to attend.
